PA WEST Disclosure Requirements for ALL Coaches and Volunteers
Starting July 1, 2015, ALL coaches and volunteers must have completed an online risk management form under the NEW system regardless of when clearances done under the old system expire. If you completed clearances under the NEW system in the Spring of 2015, you do NOT need to redo them July 1. If you have clearances under the new system through your job or other volunteer positions, they can be uploaded into PA West by clicking the link below.
State Law Change
The PA Child Protective Services Law changed recently. The change requires all coaches and volunteers involved with youth organizations to complete a State Police Criminal Record Check and a PA Child Abuse History Clearance. For individuals employed by a club who have not resided in PA continuously for the previous 10 years they must also complete an FBI Criminal Background Check. Volunteers must provide a completed and notarized Volunteer Qualification Affidavit if they've lived in PA for at least 10 continuous years; volunteers who have not met the residency requirement must also complete an FBI Criminal Background Check.
