REFEREES...

The Hampton Soccer Club offers a Referee-in-Training program as a way for interested Club players to gain experience with youth, small sided, in-house games under the supervision and mentoring by adult coordinators, USSF certified referees and older Club players who are certified referees.
Usual progression of youth referees within the Hampton Soccer Club:
>> Referee-in-Training (RIT) - classroom and on-field
>> RIT Shadow - new RITs work with an existing RIT
>> RIT Call-up (Assistant Referee (AR) to a USSF certified referee for u10 in-house games)
>> RIT as 'club lines person' (assist the club when certified referees are not available - call in / out and direction only)
>> USSF Certified Referee - "Grassroots" (entry level) +
>> RIT Manager - Certified Referee, 16 years old +

NOTE: The Referee-in-Training (RIT) training schedule has been modified to go hand-in-hand with USSF certification / recertification calendar. RIT classroom training will be conducted in late February or March; the on-field training will be conducted 1 hour before the first game of the Spring season.
Classes will be promoted in December / January and a sign-up list will be posted in January / February. Watch this page for further updates.

NOTE: Hampton Soccer Club referees will receive a 50% reimbursement towards the USSF $100 certification fee once they have passed the course and refereed 5 Hampton games
NOTE: The Hampton Soccer Club's Referee-in-Training program is intended as an introductory experience for 12 to 14 year olds. Children are elidgeable to become certified USSF referees at age 14; Scheduling preference will be given to those in the 12 to 14 range - older (14+), non-USSF-certified will be scheduled as back-ups
