HSC BOARD MEETING INCLUDING ELECTIONS May 8, 2008We will have our board meeting on Weds May 14l 9 at 8:00pm
at the high school - room C308
In addition to our typical discussions on business of the club, we will hold our annual elections for the fall season.
This is typically done in April, but due to a Pens game and Central open house, there were only 9 people in attendance
Elected positions and
incumbents are:
President - Jim Janovsky
Vice President(s) - Girls and Boys - Paul
Lawson Treasurer - Dave Duessel Secretary - Jeff Bauman Registrar -
Allison Waldschmidt
All of these offices are open for competition
The elected board
then may appoint commissioners for the Age groups; u-6; u-8 boys; u-8 girls; u-10 boys; u-10 girls; u-12 boys; u-12 girls;
u-14 boys; u-14 girls; u-16/19, along with Parents Auxilliary; Uniforms; Fields; Coaching and Player Development, etc.
I know several people who will either move up in age group, and/or do not want to be handling 2
ages as they are now. We can have more than one person act or handle the position of age group commissioner.
We
will also need at least one new referee scheduler for the fall - my wife is retiring. These may be behind the scenes
positions, but without them, we don't have officials for our games. As always, we need new volunteers for many positions. Please encourage coaches, friends, etc to
come to this meeting if they are interested in participating in the decisions of Hampton Soccer Club. Particularly, if someone
has questions about the responsibilities of a position, we can address that.
If you are unable to attend and have something for discussion, please send me an email.
Sincerely, Jim Janovsky

Fields Announcement from Jim Janovsky March
30, 2008
First
off, I wish to THANK all of those who came to help with field day yesterday. We probably had the best turnout ever - sorry
if we didn't have enough work to keep all of you fully busy, but I'll take that versus the many times when we had
6-8 people show-up and struggle to complete the work. We had all of the fields painted, nets on goals and moved to their fields, the equipment room cleaned
- all of that done by 12:15. Again, a BIG THANK YOU to all who attended. Unfortunately, that's the good news for
the moment. The
bad news, as many of you saw, the fields are still very wet and soggy - they are closed for the moment. I will check them everyday
this week and give you an update. We really need several days of 60 degree weather with a breeze and little, if any, rain.
The forecast I've seen doesn't look great right now. Possibly at the very best, I would hope that we might get games in this weekend
- that will probably be without any practices on the fields, but the jury is out on that. We are actually starting the season about a week early, so just be patient please. Fields
will remain closed for the moment. I'm trying to work on schedules and hope to provide everyone at least with the home game information for next week. Let me know if you have any questions. thanks, jim

GRADE 9 REFEREE CLASS - Hampton High School Added Jan. 3, 2008
The
Hampton Soccer Club will be hosting a Grade 9 - starting referee class.
It is on the Pawest website
(www.pawest-soccer.org) - go to the referee section and check under 'calendar'
The class will be held on January 15, 17, 22 and 24 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the
high school, room C310 - you must attend all 4 sessions to qualify of a referee license. Cost
is $50. A portion of that will be refunded via two bonuses that are payable based on officiating a number of
games in the spring and/or fall seasons.
Please sign-up as soon as possible. PaWest plans to cut-off the registration one week prior to the class date.
Also please send me an email at: janovskys@verizon.net if you wish to register.
We usually have a good turnout of young players with interest to referee. HOWEVER,
I am challenging our adults/ coaches, etc to have at least 6 new adult referees for the spring. It is time well
spent. You may think you know the rules, but it's not the same until you take a referee class. It provides a whole
new perspective of the game.
Commissioners - please consider taking the course yourself and try to promote
this with your coaches.
Please
contact me with any questions.
Sincerely, Jim Janovsky - President,
Hampton Soccer Club
